The family of Jaegers is native to the arctic and subarctic areas of the northern and southern hemispheres. They migrate very far and can spend indefinite time at sea. The body length ranges from 40 cm to 60 cm. Their feet are webbed and have strong claws. The beak is strong and has a curved tip. Skuas are very fast and agile fliers. They breed near bird colonies and are aggressive predators and parasites there. They chase other birds until they vomit their food.
