The family of Bristleheads is endemic to Borneo. It has been assigned to very different families in the course of history. Now it has been granted a family of his own. The height of the bird is 25 cm. The bare, straw-colored skin on the skull is covered with short projektions of skin that look like feather shafts. The bill is massive and hooked. Their habitat is lowland forest, rainforest and mangrove. Their food is almost exclusively of vegetable nature. The breeding biology is largely unknown.
