Scientific system: Clements et al.

Familia: Pachycephalidae

You can get "Checklist of the Whistlers of Planet Earth" as an e-book here.

The stubborn family occurs in Southeast Asia from India to the islands in the western Pacific. They are about 12 cm to 23 cm tall. Many species have relatively large rounded heads relative to the body. They live in wooded landscapes, especially rainforests. Their diet consists mainly of insects and other invertebrates. This family includes species with an excellent, diverse repertoire of vocalizations, which is also performed with astonishing volume. It is believed that most species are monogamous.
