Birds of Poland

€ 7.99 *

Poland is one of the larger countries in Europe and stretches from the Baltic Sea to the Carpathian Mountains, which reach an altitude of more than 2000 m. In addition, Poland is one of the countries in the world with the greatest number of lakes. There is a moderate transitional climate in Poland. In Poland there are relatively many national parks (23), but they only make up 1% of the country's area. The number of bird species is also relatively high. Poland is the main breeding area for migratory birds that come to Europe in summer. It also offers an abundance of areas that are important for global bird life and biodiversity (IBAs). BirdLife International has designated more than 170 such areas (IBAs) for Poland, including of course the famous Bialowieza Forest. Poland is a country of superlatives in many ways.
