Birds of Lebanon

€ 8.99 *

Lebanon is a coastal state whose avifauna is dominated by the migration routes that cross its territory. The country consists essentially of four landscape zones, the coastal strip, the Lebanon Mountains, the Bekaa Plain and the Anti-Lebanon and the Herman Mountains (with 2814m altitude). According to BirdLife International, there are a total of four areas that are considered Important Bird Aras (IBA). There is also an area that Lebanon shares with Syria, Jordan and Israel, and is considered a Secondary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-S) because it is the only habitat of the Sysrian Serin. While the desert birds can be observed year-round, the best times to study migratory birds are spring and fall.
