Birds of Panama

€ 19.99 *

Panama is a hugely popular destination for birdwatchers, and with good reason. It is one of the areas with the highest diversity of bird species on earth. This is not only due to its location on the land bridge between North and South America, but also to the differentiation of habitats at different altitudes. Panama has therefore declared 15 areas national parks, which together make up almost 30% of the land area. In addition, there are numerous specialties with a small distribution area, including at least 6 endemic species. Therefore, two areas of Panama belong to the World Heritage. In addition, seven areas have been declared EBAs (Endemic Bird Areas) by BirdLife International. In total, more than 900 bird species have been recorded in Panama, a wonderful number for such a small country.
