Vögel in Spanien

€ 8.99 *

Spain is the second most visited country in the world. The continental part of European Spain is located on the Iberian Peninsula and has coasts on the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the Mediterranean Sea in the east. In the north, the Pyrenees connect Spain with the rest of Europe. There the Pico d'Aneto reaches an altitude of 3404 m. In the predominantly mountainous country one can distinguish 3 climatic zones: Mediterranean, semi-arid and oceanic. Because of the size, the diversity of the habitats and the largely sparse population, animal species that have disappeared from the rest of Western Europe have survived on the Iberian Peninsula. There are 9 national parks on the mainland and others on Spanish islands. The diversity of the habitats is reflected in the unbelievably large number of IBAs. BirdLife International has rated 469 areas as IBA (Important Bird Area), i.e. as areas of global importance for the bird world. It is not only worth visiting the popular tourist areas, but also the interior of the country.
