Birds of Fiji

€ 4.49 *

Fiji is an archipelago in the South Pacific, comprising 332 islands, 110 of which are inhabited. Most of the islands are of volcanic origin, the highest of which is 1324 meters high. The climate is tropical, hot and humid. By far the largest part of the country's area is accounted for by the two islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. According to BirdLife International, the actual archipelago forms a Primary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-P), in the north there is Rotuma, a Secondary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-S), which is politically part of the Fiji Islands. With more than 30 species, a significant amount of bird life is endemic, making the Fiji Islands a great destination for bird watchers. In order to see all endemic species you should also visit the smaller islands Taveuni, Kadavu, Ogea and Gau.
