You can get "Checklist of the Guans and Chachalacas of Planet Earth" as an e-book here.
The family of Guans and Chachalacas lives in the tropical regions of the New World. Their body length ranges from 50 cm to 100 cm. They have short wings, a large tail, and strong legs and feet. Their back toe is level with their front toes. Their habitat are rainforests. Although they don't like to fly, most species spend the night in trees or bushes. They prefer plant-based foods. Many Guans can make very loud sounds because they have an enlarged windpipe. Their nests are created on the ground. The clutch sizes are 2 to 4 eggs. The chicks are big and strong just a few days after hatching and are cared for by both adult birds.
