The family of African and Green Broadbills occurs in Africa and Southeast Asia. This family was only recently separated from the family of Broadbills based on DNA studies. Their body length ranges from 11.5 cm to 27 cm. African and Green Broadbills are found in tropical forests. The three Asian species feed mainly on fruits, especially figs, while the three African species live on insects, which they may also catch in flight. The nest is cup-shaped or spherical and mostly consists of plant material. One to three eggs are laid in it.
