The family of Cuckoo-shrikes is common in the tropics of Africa, Asia, and Australia. The body length is between 13 cm and 30 cm. They are primarily tree dwellers. Most are good fliers and are sociable. They live on insects - especially large hairy caterpillars - and berries. The nest is usually laid out as a flat bowl on a horizontal branch and is sometimes camouflaged with cobwebs and pieces of bark. Both parents take part in the care of the two to four eggs and in the rearing of the young.
