Scientific system: Clements et al.

Familia: Eupetidae

You can get "Checklist of the Rail-Babblers of Planet Earth" as an e-book here.

The only species of the family of Rail-babblers occurs on the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. The body size is 28 cm to 30 cm. The bird has a long thin neck, long dark bill, long legs, and a long tail. Its shape and its movements are reminiscent of a rail. Its habitat is woodland and marshland. Rail-babblers are shy and secretive ground dwellers who prefer to run rather than fly when disturbed. Little is known about breeding biology, except that the clutch size is 2 eggs.
