The family of Swallows is found all over the world with the exception of the coldest regions, many species are migratory birds. They are quite small birds with a body length of 10 cm to 23 cm. The wings are long and pointed, the legs and feet small, the beak short with a wide throat. Swallows are fast and extremely agile fliers. They feed exclusively on flying insects. They nest in dug earth caves, natural caves or bowl-shaped mud nests. They breed up to three times a year.
