The family of Kinglets and Goldcrests is found in North America and Eurasia, the northern populations are migratory birds. They are very small birds with a lenght of 8 cm to 11 cm. They have medium-length wings and a thin, straight and pointed beak. They are particularly well adapted to the coniferous forest and eat almost exclusively insects. The suspended nest in the shape of a cup is very complex and can contain up to 2500 feathers.
