Avidiversity  AVITOPIA - Reed-Warblers and allies

Scientific system: Clements et al.

Familia: Acrocephalidae

You can get "Checklist of the Reed-Warblers and allies of Planet Earth" as an e-book here.

The family of Reed-Warblers is native to Africa, Eurasia and Australia to Oceania. Many species are migratory birds. This family was only recently recognized based on DNA studies. The body size ranges from 11.5 cm to 18 cm. Almost all species have a relatively single-coloured plumage and can be better identified from their songs than from their appearance. However, the chants often contain imitations of other bird species. Most Reed-Warblers colonize wetlands or habitats near water.
