Scientific system: Clements et al.

Familia: Ciconiidae

You can get "Checklist of the Storks of Planet Earth" as an e-book here.

The family of storks is widespread worldwide except for the coldest areas. Some species are resident birds, others are long-distance migrants. The body length ranges from 75 cm to 150 cm. They are long-legged birds with large wings, a long neck and a long beak. They fly a lot, usually with a stretched neck, and they sail excellently. They feed on small animals, from insects to small mammals. 3 to 6 eggs are laid in the shallow nest made of brushwood, which are incubated by both parents.
