AVITOPIA - Hypocolius

The only species of Hypocolius family lives in the arid semi-deserts from the Middle East to western India, they migrate south in winter. Their body length is approx. 23 cm. They have a slight erectible crest and a short hook-tipped bill, the plumage is soft and satiny. Their diet consists largely of fruits. The nest is cup-shaped and is lined with hair and fluff. The four eggs are incubated for 14 to 15 days.
