The cormorant family are gregarious freshwater or marine birds found on every continent. The body length is 50 cm to 100 cm. They have short legs with large webbed feet. They have a long neck and a slender beak with a curved tip. They dive from the surface of the water and can stay underwater for minutes. The caught fish are thrown into the air and devoured head first.
