Scientific system: Clements et al.

Familia: Pandionidae

You can get "Checklist of the Ospreys of Planet Earth" as an e-book here.

There is only one species in the family of ospreys, but it is a true cosmopolitan: it occurs on all continents. The birds are around 60 cm tall with long wings and short tails. The beak is hook-shaped and the feet have warty sole pads. Fischdler are pure fish hunters who hover first and then plunges into the water, often submerging themselves completely. The fish are grasped with the claws and carried to a sitting site or a nest. The female breeds and cares for the young birds alone.
