Birds of Finland

€ 6.99 *

Finland is one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe. At the same time, according to official census, it has more than 180,000 lakes with almost 100,000 inland islands. The climate is cold-temperate, the northernmost parts of the country are beyond the Arctic Circle. The bird life is extremely attractive, as many bird species are rarely found in more southern countries. Some bird species have their western limit of distribution in Finland, e.g. the Yellow-breasted Bunting. 13% of the country's area is under nature protection, above all Finland's 40 national parks. How attractive bird watching can be in Finland can already be seen from the fact that BirdLife International designates 100 areas in Finland as IBAs (Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas).
