Birds of the Czech Republic

€ 6.99 *

The Czech Republic is one of several landlocked countries in Central Europe. At its edges, the Czech Republic is surrounded by mountain ranges. The altitudes range from 115 m on the Elbe and 1603 m on the Schneekoppe in the Giant Mountains. The climate is largely temperate. The species-rich fauna is protected in four national parks, which are located on the borders and supplemented by foreign protected areas beyond the borders. Another four areas are designated as biosphere reserves. The bird life is diverse and many native bird species are attractive to bird watchers, e.g. the grouses, the owls and the woodpeckers. BirdLife International lists 40 IBAs (Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas). And the excellent infrastructure makes the Czech Republic a perfect destination for bird watchers.
