Birds of Bahrain

€ 7.49 *

Bahrain is an island nation in the Persian Gulf and the third smallest country in Asia. Summers are very hot and rainfall is low and irregular. BirdLife International has four IBAs (Important Bird an Biodiversity Areas) for Bahrain, mainly because of the large number of marine birds. The Hawar Islands area, for example, with over 100,000 adults, has the largest concentration of Socotra cormorants. Flamingos as well as many other water birds are also regularly encountered here. The Hypocolius even occurs in the urban area. Incidentally, it is the millions of migratory birds that make Bahrain attractive to birders.
