Birds of Malaysia

€ 17.49 *

Malaysia is one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world; i.e. this country is home to a large number of species and a relatively large number of endemic species. Malaysia consists of a continental part on the Malay Peninsula and a part in northeast Borneo as well as a few smaller islands. In both parts there is a tropical, hot and humid climate. The landscapes are mostly mountainous, especially on Borneo the Kinabalu reaches the extraordinary height of 4095 m. There are a number of protected areas, most of which are designated as national parks. The avifauna is quite amazing, BirdLife International has registered that Malaysia shares or includes 7 EBAs (Endemic Bird Areas) with other countries. Some of the fascinating bird species are endangered or even threatened with extinction. In any case, a visit to Malaysia is an outstanding experience for bird watchers.
