Birds of the Russian Federation

Russia is the largest country in the world by area. The climate is predominantly continental, the average temperature in Russia is -5.5°C. Although 40 national parks have been set up, nature and environmental protection do not enjoy high priority there. The Sapowedniki are the most strictly protected, entering their core zones is usually forbidden. Some bird species can be described as breeding endemics, they breed exclusively in the far north of Russia and migrate long distances to the south outside of the breeding season. It can be dangerous for tourists to visit the country, at least when they are welcome as political hostages. And they face lengthy prison terms if they can be accused of suspicious activity. On the other hand, you can get to know the bird species of Russia without risk with the help of an interesting bird guide.
