Birds of Botswana

€ 12.99 *

Botswana is a landlocked country dominated by the dry woodlands of the Kalahari Desert, tha largest stretch of sand in the world. Even the very large swampy inland delta of the Okawango is formed inside the Kalahari. A good time to visit the Okawango Delta is May to October, as temperatures are pleasant, but bird life is more diverse during the wet season. Although Botswana has no true endemics, it is one of the best places to see many Kalahari, swamp and grass-land specials. 17 percent of the country's lands area is formally protected by national parks and reserves. Since 2014 the Okavango Delta is part of the UNESCO World Heritage; it is home to over 400 bird species alone.
