Birds of Zimbabwe

€ 14.49 *

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern tropical Africa. Large parts of the country are covered by dry savannah, dominated by miombo and mopane forests. However, the forest suffers from frequent clearing for the purpose of tobacco cultivation. However, Zimbabwe has 11 national parks, and more than a quarter of the country's territory is officially protected. Although Zimbabwe has no actual endemics, some bird species with small distribution areas have resulted in Zimbabwe sharing two Endemic Bird Areas (EBA) with neighboring countries, according to BirdLife International. The avifauna is extremely diverse with more than 600 species, but it is not easy to travel around the country for many reasons.
