Birds of Uganda

€ 22.49 *

Uganda is an African landlocked country, most of which is on one level at a height of approx. 1000 m above sea level. Nevertheless, the highest point in the country is 5110 m in the Ruwenzori Mountains. The climate is tropical-warm, as the effects of the geographical location on the equator are mitigated by the altitude. As is to be expected, the variety of bird species is extraordinarily high with well over 1000 species. The number of bird species with a small range is also impressive, so that BirdLife International has recognized 6 regions as Endemic Bird Areas (EBAs). The extension of the EBA 'North Ugandan swamps' is adapted to the range of Fox's Weaver, the only true endemic of Uganda. Nature is preserved in 10 national parks and several nature reserves. Uganda is a true Eldorado for dedicated bird watchers.
