Dominica is called "The Nature Island" because of its lush tropical rain forests. Due to its importance for the collective interests of humanity the national park "Morne Trois Pitons" in the south of Dominica has been recognized as UNESCO nature world heritage site. Birdlife International assigned the island to be part of a Primary Endemic Bird Area, the Lesser Antilles (EBA-P), indicating that a significant number of bird species with restricted range can be found here. In fact you can watch most of the Caribbean birds here without traveling from island to island. And the country is on the list of The Worlds Ten Best Ethical Destinations determined by Ethical Traveler in 2017.
