Birds of the USA

€ 17.49 *

The ecology of the United States of America is quite diverse ("megadivers"). One of the reasons is that this country has the largest number of ecoregions (according to WWF) and most climate types out of all countries in the world. The climate types range from "polar" in Alaska to "tropical" at the southern tip of Florida. There are 59 national parks and hundreds of protected areas in the USA. 38 wetlands are of international importance and therefore protected by the Ramsar Convention. The birdlife of the United States contains numerous endemics, and according to BirdLife International, six Endemic Bird Areas (EBA) exist in the United States alone on the continent. The USA offer an inexhaustible wealth of opportunities to make exciting bird watching excursions.
