At 3,148 m above sea level, Jøkulkyrkja is the highest mountain in Queen Maud Land. The most important research station, Troll, has its own runway at an altitude of 1,280 m and is located on rocky ground. There are several areas along the coast with significant Emperor Penguin colonies. This bird guide shows all the bird life in colour (Date 05.12.2024).
