The Ross Dependency is the part of the Antarctis claimed by New Zeland.

The Ross Dependency lies between 160° east and 150° west longitude in Antarctica and includes the Ross Sea. Ross Island is home to the active volcano Mount Erebus and the largest research station in Antarctica, McMurdo Station, which is operated year-round by the US government. About a third of all Adelie Penguins and a quarter of all Emperor Penguins live in the Ross Sea - it has been the largest marine protected area on earth since 2017.
