The tropical island Tobago is one of the most charming Caribbean islands and simultaneously offers an amazing avidiversity. The bird species are Southamerican rather than Caribbean, for in previous times there have been land bridges to the continent. Furthermore, many bird species with restricted range live there, hence BirdLife International pronounced the island a Secondary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-S).
Tobago is located in the Atlantic Ocean. Legally Tobago belongs to Trinidad and Tobago. Because of the number of bird species with restricted range occurring in this area, BirdLife International assigned it a Secondary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-S).
