Saint-Barthélemy is surrounded by numerous uninhabited islands. The entire archipelago is of volcanic origin. The highest point is the Morne de Vitet in the east of the island at 286 m. The climate is warm and humid. Like all Antillean islands, Saint-Barthélemy is in the hurricane zone, so hurricanes can be expected in the second half of the year. Saint-Barthélemy is a breeding ground for Brown Boobies, several species of terns and other seabirds, as well as hummingbirds and songbirds endemic to the Antilles. The island has a very good infrastructure and is therefore relatively easy to visit.
Saint Barthélemy is located in the Atlantic Ocean. Legally Saint Barthélemy belongs to France.
