Vögel auf Anguilla

€ 4.99 *

Anguilla is an elongated flat island, one of the northernmost of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean. The climate is tropical, but relatively cool and dry, and the soil is largely infertile, so that no forest and hardly any agriculture are possible. Nevertheless, or precisely because of this, there are a number of bird species that are endemic to the Caribbean. In addition, Anguilla is on an important migratory route between North and South America and of course you can also find many pelagic bird species here. Tourism plays a major role in the island's economy, and the island has consistently achieved a top spot in ratings of its attractiveness.

Anguilla is located in the Atlantic Ocean. Legally Anguilla belongs to United Kingdom. Because of the number of bird species with restricted range occurring in this area, BirdLife International assigned it a Primary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-P).
