Bali is a partially forested tropical volcanic island east of Java. It is a popular destination and offers many bird species - including many migratory birds - space and nutrition. With the nearby neighboring island of Java, Bali has many endemic bird species in common, so BirdLife International has declared the remaining forest areas of these two islands as a Primary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-P). The best-known bird is the Bali Myna, which has its home in only a small area (Bali Barat) in the north-west of Bali. This bird guide presents the entire birdlife of Bali and helps in the identification in the wild.
Bali is located in the Indian Ocean. Legally Bali belongs to Indonesia. Because of the number of bird species with restricted range occurring in this area, BirdLife International assigned it a Primary Endemic Bird Area (EBA-P).
